This song is charming. It’s not terribly innovative, it actually seems almost familiar, but I find that comforting, even neck tingle relaxing. It’s a breath of fresh air in a rather stale and synthesized musical landscape, and it shows some range for Black musicians. People need to be constantly reminded that we can do more than tear up the club, rap and gyrate on poles.
